Global Urban Research Unit - Newcastle University

GURU is a University Research Centre formed by the amalgamation of three existing centres to work at the leading edge of contemporary thinking and research about urban problems. The scope of research in GURU members is global, encompassing in particular the UK, Europe and countries in the developing world. GURU covers a wider range of research areas flexibly organized around 4 themes: territorial governance; cities and international development; neighbourhood diversity and social inclusion and urban technology, design and development. Academic staff in GURU have substantial experience in the co-ordination of national, international and European research projects and networks.

For KATARSIS, GURU will collaborate with Andy Pike from CURDS, another Newcastle University Research Centre.
