Benoît Lévesque is the co-founder of the Center for Research on Social Innovations (CRISES) and was its Director until June 2003. He is now a regular member of CRISES. Benoît Lévesque was also the Director of Community-University Research Alliances in Social Economy until June 2003. He is author and co-author of more than an hundred scientific publications and books and has been part of many collective publications. Professor Lévesque has international recognition for his publications on Economic Sociology, Sociology of Business Firms, Social Economy and Local Development. Relevant other activities include: Scientific President of the International Centre of Research and Information on Public and Cooperative Economy (CIRIEC?International) since 2002; Co-responsible of the Committee on Economy of the Association internationale des sociologues de langue française (International Association of French Speaking Sociologists), since 1994; member in charge of the organization of 5 international symposiums, of 8 national symposiums and various other scientific events; he has been part of the Evaluation Committee for many important publications.
